Wonderful Clarity to Chess World & World Chess Champion!

Wonderful Clarity to Chess World & World Chess Champion!

carlsen1

Carlsen’s words after Winning 5th World Chess Championship 2021 in Dubai

“It’s been clear to me for most of the year that this world championship should be the last, It doesn’t mean as much anymore as it once did. For those who expect me to play the world championship next time, the chance that they will be disappointed is very great. It is important for me to say that I do intend to play chess. I will continue to play chess, it gives me a lot of joy. But the world championship has not been so pleasurable.”

Carlsen went on to state he would play World Championship only if..

Carlsen stated, he would play only if Alireza wins the candidates tournament, he would play world championship match as Alireza belong to next generation (currently Alireza is 19 years old and is world no. 3)

Thus putting up entire Chess World in Dilemma!

Imagine state of the candidates who were preparing and now (June’2022) playing the Candidates tournament in which winner will have a World Championship Match against Carlsen!

candidates

Alireza & rest all 7 players have come through rigorous cycles and chess to quality for candidates. Remember, candidates in not any 8 or top 8 ranks, there are multiple chess tournaments and criteria that decides 8 spots of candidates which for sure is 2nd most important tournament after world championship!

million-dollar-question
Million Dollar Question in Chess World

So if we consider Carlsen’s 2 statements, and rule of candidates, it means, if Alireza doesn’t win candidates 2022, then top 2 finishers will play world championship?

Caruana – A Response that can give answer to literally everyone!

Caruana being world no. 2 for long, Carlsen’s opponent in 2018 world championship and only player not to lose a single classical game in world championship against Carlsen (match was decided in rapid chess as all 12 classical games ended in a draw)

Caruana was asked during opening ceremony that do you think 2nd spot of candidates matters?

carlsen3

Impromptu answer Caruana gave was an example of rich thinking, immense respect for Carlsen, self-awareness, presence of mind, understanding situation, nature of people , focusing on the goal!

Caruana said he doesn’t buy much on Carlsen’s stand as this can be his feeling at that point of time but this feeling might change! à super understanding of feelings, emotions

He mentioned, Carlsen mostly speaks his mind and speaks honestly à understanding Carlsen!

If I was in Carsen’s position, I would play the match as World Championship itself is a unique challenge irrespective of opponent à shows his views, perspective that throws clarity

Caruana also mentioned, Carlsen is being there as world champion for long so he is the best person to comment à shows self-awareness as well as appreciating situations

Caruana goes out of the way to show the way?

Isn’t it gives a good escape path for Magnus to play world championship irrespective of Alireza wins or not?

Isn’t it that this interview talks lot of sensible stuff on world championship and how every candidate should attempt and look forward to?

Isn’t it that it gives all the chess fans like us, a good perspective on such a high level topic where so much is at stake?
Isn’t this gives a Wonderful Clarity to the Chess World & World Chess Champion?

Fantastic Fabiano playing against Carlsen in WCC 2018, will it repeat?
